Favorite Things Friday ♥

Happy Friday y'all! I am jumping on the bandwagon and sharing some of my favorite things I have  discovered this week. It has been a great week for us. We celebrated Byron's parents 50th anniversary on Saturday (I will share a picture of some fun cookies I made at the end). It was a great party and an occasion worthy of celebrating! 

I have been looking at some fun ways to organize/revamp my craft room. I love this chic little space. 

After baking cookies this week I found myself looking at inspiration on Pinterest. Are these not the cutest for Valentine's day?! I might find myself making these very soon :)

I have had my eye on some bistro chairs like this for awhile and Restoration Hardware has a great deal on them right now. 

I am loving the use of fun papers to brighten up spaces (and I am a sucker for anything by Rifle Paper Co.) 

                                 Amen. What a good and very needed reminder for me.

Our Honeymoon in Paris

My husband and I got married last October and since I was finishing up the rest of my semester of college we took a delayed honeymoon mid December. It has been a year since we left for Paris. Oh how I wish we were headed there now. 

We both enjoyed not having to worry about honeymoon plans while worrying about the last minute details of our wedding. We had plenty of time after the wedding to look forward to our honeymoon. Byron had been to Paris before on a short trip when he studied a semester abroad at Oxford. For me this was my first time to travel outside of the U.S. We both agreed that Paris would be the perfect place to celebrate our new marriage. 

The week before our trip a very rare occurance happened in Dallas, ice, and lots of it. Byron's work had already canceled several days and I had bought a lot of groceries in preparation for the ice storm. It was a great opportunity for me to practice my domestic cooking abilities. After about four days stuck in our house we were getting a little dose of cabin fever and agreed to meet a friend at a local place just down the road for brunch. I mean the restaurant is literally just down the road surely we would make it there safely with a little ice on the road. 

Well... that was not the case. Byron went out to wipe some ice off of the windshield and slipped on the frozen driveway onto his arm. After a trip to the emergency room down the road the x rays more than confirmed his arm pain. He had completely broken his humerus bone in half. When I saw the x-ray I just cringed. He ended up having surgery the same day to put plates in his arm. The Dr. said we would be just fine to go on out trip if we just take it easy. Looking back maybe it wasn't the best idea (since we just endured surgery #2 on it) but we went for it and the next week we found ourselves on our 10 hour flight to Paris.

Here are some pictures from our trip. I have enjoyed reminiscing over these sweet memories. I now know why people fall so in love with this city.

Happy Thanksgiving! It has been such a great day spending time with family and thinking of all the things I have to be thankful for. Thanksgiving was very special this year because my husband's family came over to my parent's house so we got to enjoy the day with both of our families.

• Beauty Blender- This is my latest makeup obsession. While it may seem pricey for a sponge it is so worth it. It will be a favorite and become a part of the receivers everyday makeup routine. 
• Happy Everything Plate-I received a Happy Everything plate as a gift from my husband one year and love it. They have a variety of colors and you can even change out pieces on them to customize it for any holiday or event. 
• Fujifilm Instax Mini Polaroid camera-This retro camera will have anyone smiling. Grab it at Michaels and use one of their weekly coupons to snag it on sale. 
• Christina Gold Link Bracelet- This bracelet from Stella & Dot is vert trendy in gold and will go with just about anything. 
• Jesus Calling Daily Devotional- This is my favorite devotional. I keep them on hand to gift because I love it so much. 
• Puffer Vest- Quilted puffer vest are a must have for the winter. You can find this buffalo plaid vest at J.Crew and you can find a variety of them for much less at the J. Crew Factory Site that has everything half off right now.
